“I started doodling on receipts and leaving them for servers in 2015. During the covid shutdown i drew on the receipts at home; they became more elaborate and more colorful. The characters on the receipts are based on pharmaceuticals: capsules, aspirin, style tablets, syringes and prescription bottles. I have always been drawn toward provocative subject matter. I particularly like the pharmaceutical characters because it is unclear whether they are intended for recreational or therapeutic use. My intention is not to advocate for or against drugs, rather to stir emotions and spark conversations.”
